SUMMARY:Banned Book Club
DESCRIPTION:Join the Paulding County Democrats for the first meeting of our Banned Book Club. We’ll have an evening of discussion and celebration of banned books. Let’s explore the stories challenged and understand the importance of freedom of expression. \nOur first book will be “Gender Queer\,” a 2019 graphic memoir written and illustrated by Maia Kobabe. It recounts Kobabe’s journey from adolescence to adulthood and the author’s exploration of gender identity and sexuality\, ultimately identifying as being outside of the gender binary. It has become the most challenged book according to the American Library Association. \nPlease purchase and read the book ahead of the book club meeting. \nThis event will be at a private home in Hiram. Coffee and soft drinks will be provided. Please bring a snack to share. \nLet’s stand together for the freedom to read and share ideas! \nRegister to attend on Mobilize in order to receive address!
