DESCRIPTION:Please be advised that the Paulding County Democratic Committee will be electing delegates to the 2022 Democratic Party of Georgia State Convention on Monday\, August 8th\, at 5:30 pm at Jim ‘N Nick’s in Hiram. Two caucuses will be held at this time. The first caucus will consist of elected committee members/post seat holders voting for half of the allotted delegates and half of the alternates. The second caucus will consist of the general public electing the remaining half of the delegates and alternates. You do not have to be an elected committee member/post seat holder to run for a delegate spot. You simply need to be a registered voter of the county and you must physically reside in the county. Everyone who attends must sign the Georgia State Convention Delegate & Delegate Elector Affidavit to participate.\n\nThe State Convention will be held on Saturday\, August 27th\, at the Columbus Ironworks in Columbus\, GA. This is the Democratic Party’s time to highlight our amazing slate of candidates\, adopt our party’s platform\, and adopt resolutions that represent who we are. DESCRIPTION:At the end of every year\, we take the time to acknowledge our successes and the people who made those successes possible\, while celebrating the holiday season with those we had the opportunity to get to know and work with. At this business meeting\, we will have a guest speaker (TBA)\, an awards ceremony\, and congressional and state-wide candidates speak. Additional information will be made available as the event nears.\n\nOur events committee will also be on hand to collect perishable items for Helping Hands of Paulding County as a part of our community outreach efforts. Food items we’ll be collecting include mac & cheese\, stuffing\, canned green beans\, canned corn\, canned yams/sweet potatoes\, and cranberry sauce. Additional non-food items include new/gently used jackets and coats and hygiene products such as soap\, toothpaste\, toothbrushes\, adult protective underwear\, feminine products\, deodorant\, tissues\, etc.
