What is a “Post Seat Holder”?
A Post Seat Holder is an elected member of the Paulding County Democratic Committee who represents one of the county’s four commission posts.
Post Seat Holders make up the formal governing body of the Committee. Their responsibilities include attending meetings, voting on official party business such as budgets, officer elections, and bylaw changes, and representing their district in caucuses and internal elections.
To qualify, a person must live in the post they seek to represent and be a registered member of the committee. Each post can have six to eight seat holders, with a countywide maximum of 28. Post Seat Holders serve four-year terms staggered between gubernatorial and presidential election years.
