Paulding Democratic leadership discuss concerns regarding changes to polling locations

Chairwoman Taurus Madric-Morris addressed county commissioners regarding the changes to polling locations across the county at its morning work session.

The Paulding County Board of Elections approved a proposal to add an additional twelve new voting locations and removing seven including a minority stronghold: Taylor Farm Park.

Party leadership considers the changes to polling locations a form of voter suppression—whether the changes were intentional or unintentional. Of top concern, Chairwoman Madric-Morris pointed out that when polling locations change without notice it puts a burden on voters who may not have the time or transportation to travel to a new location.

“It does disenfranchise voters because when they show up, they can’t vote.”

Party leadership will continue to work with the board of elections to address our concerns and find solutions.
